Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull ‘deplores’ Thornlie attack

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has condemned a fire attack outside a Perth mosque overnight.

WA Police said four cars were damaged in the arson attack outside the Thornlie Islamic College and mosque about 8pm on Tuesday.

Offensive graffiti was also sprayed on the walls of the college.

Hundreds of people were participating in evening prayers at the mosque while the attack was carried out.

The Prime Minister told Gary Adshead that Australians need to respect each other.

Labor MLA Chris Tallentire was on the scene shortly after last night’s attack.

The Member for Gosnells told Gary Adshead the attack coincided with evening prayers for Ramadan.
