Work begins on High St upgrade – with a roundabout at Stirling Hwy

Improvement works are underway on a stretch of High Street – aimed at reducing congestion and improving safety through the Fremantle area.

The $118 million dollar project – funded by both the State and Commonwealth – was promised by the McGowan Government after the Perth Freight Link project was scrapped in the wake of the election.

Traffic lights at the High Street Stirling Highway intersection will be replaced with a roundabout.

Transport Minister Rita Saffioti told Gareth Parker on Mornings they consulted with industry about the design.
