‘We’re seeing the best of humanity’: Hundreds sign up for COVID-19 community support

Local members Zak Kirkup and John Carey have launched community programs – encouraging people to sign up to volunteer and check in on elderly residents.

Launched at the weekend – the programs won’t offer medical assistance – but will ensure residents are still able to talk to people and request help if needed.

The Member for Dawesville Zak Kirkup told Gareth Parker on Mornings around 300 people have already put their hand up to help.

North of the river, Member for Perth John Carey has launched something similar and over 800 people have already signed up.
