Voyager: 40 years in space

The world’s most distant spacecrafts, Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 have marked 40 years in space.

The two crafts were launched in 1977 and have travelled billions of kilometres.

They can only be contacted by the Parkes Radio Telescope.

Chris had a chat with CSIRO Parkes Observatory operations scientist, John Sarkissian.
