Victorian man jailed for failing to isolate in Perth

A man will spend at least a month behind bars for breaching his coronavirus isolation order in Perth.

Victorian Jonathan David broke out of a Perth hotel a number of times last month while he was supposed to be self-isolating.

He’s today become the first person in Australia to be jailed for breaching quarantine.

6PR reporter Lindsay Brennan was in court for the sentencing and told Gareth Parker on Mornings, David has been sentenced to six months, and will serve one immediately with the remainder suspended for a year.
