Perth ultra marathon organisers have taken the unusual step of disqualifying a competitor, after he was found to have cheated in a weekend 100 kilometre event.

Mornings with Gareth Parker contacted the Australia Day Ultra, after 6PR Breakfast’s Rumour File was tipped-off to the case.

The event’s Race Director Ron McGlinn told Mornings, the competitor was disqualified after an investigation found he failed to run the complete course.
