TWU heads back to school
The Transport Workers’ Union is heading back to school… the veterans of the industry are sharing their knowledge with students to warn them of the dangers on the road and how to safely share the roads with trucks.
“We’ve got a number of them who have volunteered that would love nothing more than to go into the schools and talk to young people about to get there licence about the issues of interacting with heavy vehicles, trucks and buses,” Tim Dawson from the TWU told 6PR Breakfast.
Transport companies have offered to supply trucks to show the students the sheer size of the road trains and the Minister for Education is also interested in the program.
