Healthcare worker Michelle says she was denied a COVID-19 test, twice, despite presenting with flu-like symptoms and recently treating patients who had returned from overseas with similar symptoms.

Michelle was first denied a test because she didn’t meet the criteria, but was denied a second time, even after the Health department’s testing guidelines were expanded to include any healthcare workers with flu-like symptoms.

She said she started feeling unwell last Tuesday and hasn’t returned to work since to avoid spreading her infection.
