Building approvals in WA are continuing to fall despite a national improvement.

Data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics have shown that approvals have rose 11.8% nationally, while WA fell 1.9%. It is the lowest amount in 20 years.

Master Builders Association Director John Gelavis says it has been a tough time for the industry and  migration plus mining has a lot to do with the change.
