Teachers concerned about social distancing if schools re-open

The State School Teachers Union says while teachers don’t have an issue with schools remaining open – a solution needs to be found on how staff can safely remain socially distant in the workplace.

The Prime Minister is appealing for teachers to ensure schools remain open – particularly for the vulnerable and the children of essential workers.

Union President Pat Byrne told Gareth Parker on Mornings teachers are well aware of the importance of providing an education – but their safety needs to be considered too.
