Subiaco Lions hit with recruiting restrictions

Mark Readings

Yesterday saw the West Australian Football Commission finalise its annual review of the WAFL Rules & Regulations with Executive Manager WAFL & Football Operations Scott Baker, discussing the commissions review to focus on the competitive balance of the WAFL to ensure it becomes a more exciting & close competition every season.

The review was centred around the Subiaco Football Club & their dominance over the last decade, with the Lions playing in 13 out of 19 Grand Finals since 2001, winning 8 of them. Subi will be hit with player recruiting restrictions which will effect an ageing list going forward.

Subiaco Lions CEO Peter Capes sheds some more light on the 2019 review & what it all means for the club & how it will effect the WAFL competition in seasons to come.
