Small biz say some employees don’t believe they have to keep working under JobKeeper

Issues are emerging between employers and workers – as businesses look to implement the Federal Government’s JobKeeper program.

The initiative is aimed at keeping people employed during the current virus-related downturn – with the Commonwealth paying $1,500 a fortnight for eligible workers.

The Council of Small Business Organisations says some companies are struggling to pay wages in the meantime – before Government funding starts flowing.

Chief Executive Peter Strong told Gareth Parker on Mornings another issue has emerged – where employees don’t believe they need to continue working.
