Search for missing grandfather continues

Police are now concentrating the search for a missing 87-year-old man in the Craigie and Padbury areas in Perth’s northern suburbs.

Alexander Henderson hasn’t been seen since leaving his Hillarys home on Thursday afternoon. He is deaf and has dementia.

Channel 9’s Elizabeth Creasy told Oliver Peterosn officers spent the day door knocking and reviewing CCTV in the area and residents are also being urged to check their backyards as Mr Henderson may be seeking shelter.

Alzheimer’s WA chief executive Rhonda Parker says families need to have conversations about safety when a dementia diagnosis is received.
