Sculpture by the sea guests asked to contribute to keep event afloat

One of WA’s favourite beachside events kicks off today as Cottesloe beach welcomes the 16th annual Sculpture by the Sea.

This year’s event offers 70 works from artists from 17 countries including 33 works from WA artists.

Founding director David Handley told Gareth Parker on Mornings the exhibition is asking everyone who visits to consider making a voluntary contribution of $5 on entry or $10 for families due to a decline in corporate sponsorship.

Mr Handley says these donations will go towards covering the artists’ installation costs and the event costs to ensure the survival of Sculpture by the Sea.
