Minister for Racing and Gaming Paul Papalia says the Pilbara banned drinkers register is a means of specifically targeting the people who cause harm through their drinking, rather than blanket bans.

Right across the Pilbara every takeaway alcohol outlet will be equipped with a machine to scan identification documents to check whether people are on the banned drinkers register before they are allowed to purchase alcoholic drinks.
