Paper Bill Fees Could End

Paper bill fees need to stop according to advocacy group Keep Me Posted.

Today the Executive Directer of the group, Kellie Northwood spoke to Oliver Peterson about how they want to protect vulnerable Australians from being stung by unfair charges from banks, telcos and utility companies.

The price customers are charged for a paper bill is, on average, $2.50 per bill. The actual cost to companies is around 98 cents.

Tomorrow the Consumer Affairs Ministers meet to decide whether to support legislative reform against paper billing fees. Ms Northwood says, “common sense should prevail.”
