On Saturday night vegan activists from “Direct Action Everywhere” stormed Outback Jacks in Northbridge to stage a protest.

Owner Ray Strauss told Oliver Peterson that they barged in holding confronting posters of animals and used a mega phone to yell at diners. These diners included families with young children and the elderly.

“We’re a family owned business, so we’re not a big corporation. They’re picking a fight with the wrong people and I think they are too scared to go after the big corporations, so they go after the little guys.

“I’m proud of my staff, we had them out of there very quickly.”

Outback Jack’s phone has been running hot with bookings and support since the news broke.
