Opposition Leader says Premier needs second medical opinion

State Opposition Leader Liz Harvey has renewed calls for the Premier to open borders and create a “travel bubble” between Western Australia, Northern Territory and South Australia.

Ms Harvey joined Perth LIVE where she told Oliver Peterson given there’s no evidence of community transmission in the three states, the Premier should follow the Chief Medical Officer’s advice and bring down the border.

“We can’t stay in lock down forever. It’s killing our economy, it’s killing our jobs.”

She adds the community needs to be given confidence it’s safe to open the border.

“You try and provide some reassurance,” said Ms Harvey

“I think that’s what the community needs. They need to understand there’s a pathway to get back to full employment, to get back to an economic recovery while still managing outbreaks of COVID-19 in the future. Because they will be there.”
