Not unusual for Federal Govt to get involved in High Court challenge: Expert
A constitutional law expert says WA’s chances of fending off a challenge to its hard border closure aren’t as good, because other states are getting on top of coronavirus.
The border was closed in early April amidst the worst of the health crisis — tourism operators, as well as businessman CLIVE PALMER, are now planning to take the state government to the High Court to have the border re-opened.
University of Sydney’s Professor Anne Twomey told Gary Adshead on Mornings states are only allowed to keep their borders closed in cases where protection is reasonably required.
