The AFL says it will not be forcing players to receive the flu vaccination in order to be able to take to the field.

While the NRL says it’s mandatory for players to receive the vaccination the AFL are insisting it will just be a recommendation.

An AFL spokesperson says the decision of receiving the injection will remain with the players and club doctors.
