The independent panel looking into the state’s future freight needs has recommended the creation of a container port at Kwinana.

The Westport final report recommends that the new facility, connected to a freight corridor via Anketell Road and Tonkin Highway, be ready by the early 2030s.

It’s an alternative to the previous government’s controversial Roe 8 project.
