Migraine sufferers not getting help

Almost five million Australians suffer from migraines, but their condition is not being taken seriously by medicos.

“The economic cost to Australia is 36 billion dollars a year,” Trevor Thompson, the CEO of Headache Australia.
“It’s about $14billion with health systems, $16billion with loss of productivity and and $5billion in other costs like medication etc.”

Mr Thompson says the organisation is always collecting information with the hope of finding a cure in the future and urged sufferers to join the national headache register found at headacheaustralia.org.au.
