Job figures make ugly reading

The Prime Minister says it will be up to the states and territories to ease restrictions, to kickstart their respective economies.

New figures show about one million jobs have already disappeared since tough measures were imposed to combat Covid-19.

In Western Australia between April 11 and 18 the number of jobs in the state fell by 2.5 per cent, with the arts and recreation industry most affected.
