Port Hedland Mayor Camillo Blanco says while he’s not sure the plan to introduce a banned drinkers register would necessarily work, he’s open to serious ideas about tackling the issue in his community. He says that statistics from local police suggest that three to four domestic violence incidences are occurring per day in South Hedland and over 50 percent of them are alcohol-related.
