I felt like a baby giraffe: Josh Kennedy

West Coast Eagles sharp shooter Josh Kennedy returned for his first game in six weeks on Saturday night when his team claimed a thrilling win over Collingwood. Although Kennedy kicked two goals in the second half, he says he was a bit rusty at the start of the game.

“Just a little bit, I felt like I had butter all over my hands, I felt like a baby giraffe,” Kennedy told 6PR Breakfast.

The win came at a cost with the Eagles losing defender Brad Sheppard to a hamstring injury in the first quarter and scan revealed yesterday Sheppard will be out for the rest of their finals campaign.

“It’s really disappointing to see that happen, but it’s football. As football does, it gives other people a chance,” Kennedy says about the loss of Sheppard.
