Hospitals know smoking is an issue

Peter Vlahos & Jane Marwick

A visitor to Sir Charles Gardiner was disturbed when he saw many people smoking near the entrance of the hospital.

But it’s an issue WA hospitals are aware of and they are seeking help according to KellyKennington from Make Smoking History.

“We get feedback from a range of hospitals in WA who are frustrated with this issue and are really trying their best to do something about it,” Ms Kennington told 6PR Breakfast.
“So, Cancer Council WA is in contact with a lot of hospitals to try and give them some support to deal for people who are smoking around their hospital and also how to manage their smoking while they are in hospital,” she added.
