Grinches taking Christmas charity lunch

The annual Christmas lunch for disadvantaged people is being abused by a small group who may not need the free feed and they’re even taking a gift.

Mission Australia’s Lunch in the Park is designed to give the homeless and disadvantaged a chance to enjoy a meal together and now have to hand out wristbands to make sure it’s not being rorted.

“It’s really important for us to make sure that the resources that we have, that have been generously provided by the community, are targeted to the right people,” Jo Sadler told 6PR Breakfast.

“We’ve put in place some things this year to make sure that we educate the community to attract the right people there,” Ms Sadler added.
