Government to track people who ignore quarantine orders

The state government has announced a $91 million dollar package of measures to support the emergency response to the pandemic.

An extra 150 police officers will be recruited and given expedited training, so that they can be sent into support roles as soon as possible.

One hundred new Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras will be used to monitor and enforce movement restrictions around the State.

Electronic monitoring devices are being purchased to track people who ignore quarantine orders.

Police Minister Michelle Roberts spoke with Oliver Peterson.
