Gift for Ernie

Millsy & Karl

Last month hearts broke around Perth as a Pinjarra man told his story of a brazen thief who asked for a cup of milk, but stole a wallet full of cash.

94 year old Ernie Allan, who spent 972 days serving this country in New Guinea during WWII, still lives on his own and was shocked to discover his wallet, containing $1500, was missing after letting a young man into his home.

Thanks to the warmth and generosity of our 6PR listeners, Millsy was able to take down $500 cash to Ernie and deliver a further $1000 thanks to the Perth Window and Door Replacement Company who sponsor 6PR Breakfast’s Thousand Dollar Minute.

Ernie says the gesture left him ‘lost for words’ and wanted to thank everybody involved.
