Eaton teacher stood down for trying to break up fight

Eaton Community College associate principal Grant Walton was stood down in March after trying to break up a fight at the school.

A video has emerged which shows students throwing punches at the deputy principal who is now under investigation by the Education Department’s standards and integrity directorate for allegedly assaulting the student.

Gareth Parker spoke to the President of the WA Secondary School Executives Association Armando Giglia about where the line gets drawn on teachers intervening in student brawls.
