The AFL All Australian squad was named yesterday, with four Eagles making the squad of 40, including Andrew Gaff, Shannon Hurn, Elliot Yeo and Jeremy McGovern.

Josh Kennedy says he will be returning to the side for the first week of finals after a leg injury shortened his season, but says Jack Darling was unlucky to miss out on an All Australian mention.

“I think he was a little bit stiff, but he had a few injuries here and there and then he came back after with that ankle injury so that probably sent him back a little bit in terms of finishing that year off,” Kennedy told 6PR Breakfast.
“But from our end, he’s had a fantastic year. He’s really stepped up and taken his game to a new level so we’re really looking forward to seeing him bring that through into the finals. “
