Could sport be the answer to stamping out teenage drug and alcohol abuse?

A youth program in Iceland, which saw every child given a voucher to cover the cost of joining a sporting or activity club, has almost wiped out the country’s teenage drug and alcohol problems.

On today’s show Oliver Peterson spoke to the Alcohol and Drug Foundation CEO Dr Erin Lalor. They have been looking in interest to the model that’s been running in Iceland for the last 20 years, where  substance use among teens has gone from the the highest in Europe to the lowest.
