Calls for WA to return to full elective surgery schedule
The WA branch of the Australian Medical Association has backflipped on its stance on elective surgeries with its president now saying WA hospitals are capable of going back to a full surgery schedule.
Until a review takes place in two weeks, elective surgeries are only operating at a 25 percent capacity.
Just weeks after saying WA hospitals were under immense pressure, Dr Andrew Miller now says surgeries should resume.
Speaking with Gareth Parker on Mornings he said the original issues with PPE have receded and the operations of hospitals is at a point where they can support elective surgery.
