Treasurer Ben Wyatt is continuing to defend the state government’s decision to increase gold royalties.

The Government wants to boost the rate from 2.5 per cent to 3.75 per cent for miners who produce more than 2500 ounces a year which will raise $392 million over four years.

Mr Wyatt told Oliver Peterson says the gold industry can afford it.
