WA Egg farmers were continuing to attempt to meet supermarket deadlines for cage free eggs by 2023, but farmers have been experiencing higher production costs which has resulted in lower returns for the last 12 months.

This has led to the Supermarket giant Coles to discontinue their sales of caged eggs on their shelves.
Ian Wilson, President for the Commercial Egg Producers Association Of Western Australia, joins us to talk about this decision.
