Anne Aly says WA needs more federal funding to tackle ice scourge

Today Federal Labor Member for Cowan, Dr Anne Aly joined Perth LIVE for the Monday Agenda. She spoke to Karl O’Callaghan about the Federal Government’s response to ice use and the recommendations of the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Law Enforcement’s report on the issue from last year.

Dr Aly is the Deputy Chair of the committee and she told Karl that one of the recommendations is that federal funding should be distributed based on National Wastewater Drug Monitoring Program data as well as Census data. Currently it is distributed based on old Census data alone. This would mean WA would get more much needed funding.

Dr Aly also told listeners about her upcoming trip to New Zealand, where she will be presenting a speech on legislative responses to violent extremism.
