Ron Rowton’s 93-year-old father is in a seemingly impossible and inhumane situation with the City of Kalamunda.  We brought you his story last week.

Shadow Minister for Seniors and Ageing, Alyssa Hayden joined Oliver Peterson today to ask that the Planning Minister to use her powers to help.

“The Ron Rowton story absolutely breaks my heart.

“As a member of Parliament you go into the job to help people in situations like this. I was pleased to read that Minister Saffioti believed that on compassionate grounds his property should be purchased ahead of the development approval.

“My question to the Minister is, why doesn’t she step in to resolve the problem herself?”
