3.5 million on JobKeeper not 6 million

Treasury has massively downgraded the estimated number of Australians on the JobKeeper scheme due to a reporting error.

The Department now believes 3.5 million people are on the program, rather than the originally reported 6.5 million.

Treasury says the error was due to businesses mistakenly filling out forms.
