‘Jane’ called Gary Adshead’s program on Tuesday with a story of how she and her family spent more than $2000 in around three months on parking, while her son received cancer treatment at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

Parking at the QEII Medical Centre is set at $3.30 an hour up to a total of  $23 a day, one of the highest rates in Perth, while patients and visitors to hospitals in Armadale, Rockingham and Mandurah parking free of charge.

Pip Brennan from the Health Consumers’ Council joined Gary Adshead to talk about Perth’s hospital parking costs.

Opposition Health Spokesperson, Roger Cook, told Gary Adshead that WA Labor  will look at the costs of parking for patients and families at WA Hospitals ahead of the next election.
