Pensioners Bill & Val Ashwin have been told by the City of Rockingham that their flag pole was erected illegally.

The pole,  in their front yard was erected, was put up three years ago without council permission.  and the Ashmans may have to pay more than $400 in retrospective fees or pull it down while they seek approval.
