Melbourne coach Paul Roos says he doesn’t have any second thoughts about giving up the reins at the end of this season.

The Demons have long had a ‘Kiribilli agreement’ in which Roos would hand over to assistant coach Simon Goodwin at the end of the 2016 season.

With Melbourne currently only outside the top-eight on percentage and on track for their best season in years, speaking on Sports Today Roos said he has no desire to continue on.

‘I’m really looking forward to finishing this year,’ Roos said.

‘And really excited about the footy and the direction of the footy club.

‘Simon Goodwin coming in, I think he’s going to be an exceptional coach.

‘Looking forward to supporting the club over however many years.’
