New data has found WA GP clinics have fallen behind the national average in terms of fully bulk-billing patients.

CEO of Clean Bill James Gillespie told 6PR Perth Live it’s difficult to say why WA is at the back end.

“What’s really interesting about these results … is that they track the inverse of urbanisation … the more urban states and territories are, the more the less likely they are to have seen an increase,” he said.

The national average has doubled in one year, reaching 40.2 per cent, while the Northern Territory has the highest amount, with 57.1 per cent of clinics fully bulk-billing.
