Leader of the WA Opposition Shane Love has launched a petition to drop speed limits on Indian Ocean Road as police investigate yet another tragic crash on the north-west highway.

Mr Love told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast the latest crash was a tragic event, and renewed concerns over the regularly dangerous roadway.

“My heart goes out to the families of the people involved,” Mr Love said.

“To have a town with suburban streets coming on to a highway where the speed limit is 80 kilometres an hour, it’s just not acceptable.”
