Elon Musk has confirmed the first human recipient of his ” brain-computer interface” chip ‘Neuralink’ has recovered and can move a computer mouse with his thoughts.

After various infamous tests on monkeys and chimps, the Neuralink looks to initially aid those with full cognitive function, such as quadriplegics, to redevelop motor skills.

EFTM.com’s Trevor Long joined Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings to explain the potential benefits of the Neuralink, but questioned its future capabilities.

“I wonder whether it needs software upgrades…I think there will be chips that do many different things, the best example of that is the cochlear implant which is broadly a chip… it’s still an implant that brings hearing back to people and the concept of that for other impairments is amazing,” Long said.
