American rapper Snoop Dogg has been ditched from food delivery service Menulog’s advertising campaigns to make way for Australian artists.

The divisive star has fronted Menulog’s commercials since 2020, but will now be substituted by Aussie artists Baker Boy, Big Twisty, D’Arcy Spiller and Kirsten Salty.

Marketing Director at Menulog Simon Cheng said it was about supporting the local music scene.

“It’s the perfect time for it,” he told Mark Gibson, filling in for Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast.

“There’s been a lot of industries impacted, the hospitality industry is one of them, but the local music industry has been decimated by the happening of the last 18 months.

“When has there been a better time to be supporting the local music scene, to be getting four of the best and brightest in Australia in our next campaign to redo the jingle.”
