McCarthy up and talking: Blake Acres

Article image for McCarthy up and talking: Blake Acres

Fremantle’s Cam McCarthy was taken to hospital yesterday after fainting on the training track.

Fremantle new-comer Blake Acres says he wasn’t at the club when the incident happened but believes McCarthy is on the mend and awaiting test results.

“He went straight to hospital; I’m not sure if he’s still there or not.

“I’ve sent him a text, but obviously he’s probably had a lot of messages come to him. I think he’s up and talking,” Acres told 6PR Breakfast.

Acres made the switch from St Kilda this year and is yet to make his debut for Fremantle after pulling up with a hamstring injury just before Round 1.

“I’ve been full training now for three weeks now. It was a bit different with my rehab not being at the club.”

Fremantle head to the Gold Coast next week ahead of the season restart and Acres told Steve and Baz he and his teammates are taking over some toys to keep them amused at their new home. Golf clubs and surf boards are the popular choice of toys.
