A 47-year-old man has been charged with two counts of murder over the deaths of his parents in Capel in WA’s south-west.

Robert George Dent was charged with his parents murder and appeared via video link from Bunbury in Perth Magistrate Court on Sunday.

His parents, Colin and Bernice Dent, were found dead at their Capel home on Berkshire street at 8:15am on Friday morning.

Mr Dent was found at the scene and taken to Bunbury Hospital under police guard for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

He will appear via video link in the Perth Magistrate Court again on Wednesday.
