As news broke last night that Adam Simpson would remain as senior coach at the West Coast Eagles, 6PR listeners lit up the phone lines.

David Mundy and Adam Papalia took calls from far and wide on Monday’s iteration of Wide World of Sports, with most supportive of the decision.

Frank from Cannington kicked off the show very passionately. “I back Simmo 100%. Some of the players should be punished as well. Not the coach all the time. It’s always the coaches fault and I hate that.”

David from Dianella echoed his sentiments. “I’m glad they stuck with him. Lets back him in, rebuild and support the boys together.”

But Mark from East Fremantle took a differing view. “I don’t understand how someone can survive with the amount of losses we’ve had over the past two seasons and still have a coaching role.”
