6PR veteran broadcaster Bob Maumill retired from the station in 2016 after a radio career spanning over 40 years.

He returned to his old stomping ground when he joined Julie-anne Sprague on 6PR’s Afternoons to talk about his new book ‘Letters From a Hard Country’.

Recovering from serious illness, Maumill decided to write a novel in the historical fiction genre, set in the late 1890s and early 1900s.

Maumill, a cancer survivor, self-published ‘Letters From a Hard Country’, a sweeping tale of conflict, murder, action, adventure, family bonds, politics, romance, love, and loss.

A story of heroes and villains, good and evil, and a tragic genius who left a lasting legacy.

Bob encourages everyone to attend the book launch at South Fremantle Football Club on Sunday November 12 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
