“It’s growing and growing”: NRL legend’s excitement for WA State of Origin showcase
Excitement is building ahead of Perth’s second-ever NRL State of Origin game, with the official launch kicking off tomorrow.
Game II of the series between New South Wales and Queensland will take place on June 26th at Optus Stadium.
Maroons legend Greg Inglis told Perth LIVE – he’s expecting a blockbuster, after the runaway success of the historic and record-breaking 2019 showcase in Perth.
“To continue to bring rugby league back to WA, but also I think it’s just great bringing State of Origin back again, after the success of last time,” he told Oliver Peterson.
“It’s just growing and growing, and it’s getting bigger and better every year.
“People were saying that Origin was dead, and that New South Wales was taking over – but now, you can see the turn-over because New South Wales are going through those changes, from when I was playing in that era.
“And now Queensland’s doing the same thing. It’s just making it better and more interesting.
“It’s just great footy to watch – I’m glad I’m not playing anymore!”
Tickets go on sale tomorrow.
